(AP Photo/Evan Vucci) The Steve Harvey Show, which films in the old space once occupied by the Oprah Winfrey Show, is leaving Chicago. This month marks the last month of production for the daytime talk show. For locals, the s a bittersweet mix of emotions. On the one hand, Harvey is a hero to much of the city’s population and any TV work brought here was a sweet financial boon. On the other hand, his departure leaves a number of staffers in a lurch, according to reports, and one of those staffers apparently leaked an email that went viral. Here’s the back story. Everyone should or having the scoop about the email, which basically was a request by Harvey for staffers to use their Microsoft Outlook (or whatever they use there) to make appointments to see him rather than continually dropping in – especially in the dressing room while he was getting his makeup done for the day’s shows. And Twitter had a field day with that leaked email. Many people joked that Harvey exhibited diva tendencies. And I chuckled at a few of the posts myself. Steve Harvey staff gonna be standing around like There’s toilet paper stuck to your shoe but don’t worry I won’t say a word — CandidChronicle (@candidnewspaper) I also totally understand Harvey’s point. If people are continually dropping in all the time and he can’t get work done, then he is justified in asking staffers to make an appointment. Free download mp3 ringtone iphone 4s. That said, timing is everything, and if there are disgruntled workers who are losing their jobs, then perhaps that explains the leak. Here’s a bit of what the email said below. I’d like you all to review and adhere to the following notes and rules for Season 5 of my talk show. There will be no meetings in my dressing room. No stopping by or popping in. Do not come to my dressing room unless invited. Do not open my dressing room door. IF YOU OPEN MY DOOR, EXPECT TO BE REMOVED. Ultimately Harvey says he is not apologizing for what he wrote. And some social media followers agree with his sentiments, like this person: I don’t blame Steve Harvey. Kinda like when people see you not smiling and they say “smile!” He doesn’t have to be “on” when he’s off. — He’s My President (@tonysballerina) Harvey also said this to Entertainment Tonight: I could not find a way to walk from the stage to my dressing room, to sit in my makeup chair, to walk from my dressing room to the stage or to just sit and have lunch without somebody just walking in. I’ve always had a policy where, you know, you can come and talk to me — so many people are great around here, but some of them just started taking advantage of it. And while it is pretty funny to read the email, the fact of the matter is this: I still don’t blame him. I’ve interviewed nearly 100 celebrities, and it’s always difficult to nail down the time needed for the interviews. Case in point, I recently talked with Chance the Rapper for a magazine cover story, and the interview had to be rescheduled a few times. Because on the original date of the interview, people kept filing in and taking up his time with selfie shots and random questions that ate into our time. Family stuff popped up. He had to prep for the tour. Plus, he’s generally a popular dude. And, he’s a nice dude, so he seems to do a very good job of acknowledging everybody. I’ve seen that level of busyness with other celebs as well, including Tyra, Diddy, Questlove and Russell Simmons, so I can certainly understand why some ground rules might need to be set. Will this news harm Harvey’s new show, which he is co-producing with IMG and which will be distributed by NBC?
